Memorial Day Fashion!

Oh Memorial Day, the unofficial start to Summer! Memorial day means remembering those that made it possible for us to have freedom here in America. Which means people take this opportunity to spend time with family and friends by having           barbeques, picnics, going to cabins,drive-in movies etc. Basically everyone is outside. As a  fashionista, I still think about how to stay fashionable while participating in all of these outdoor activities, so here are a few ways to do that!

Memorial Day usually means being outdoors which means paying attention to a few things. The weather is the main one. In addition to the weather, know which type of picnic goer you are. Now there are two types of picnic/barbeque goers:active and inactive. If you are an “active” that means you are going to participate in all of the activities and you may even get, dare I say it dirty! If you are an “inactive” you walk around mingling or sit in one spot and find one buddy to talk to nibbling along the way. You will pass the volleyball back to the “actives” if it rolls your way ,however that is the extent of your activity participation.

Active: Pair shorts with chic sneakers a belt and a lightweight plaid top. Carry a fun backpack to house a extra top in case you get it dirty.Finish with a sporty watch!image

Inactive: Since you won’t be doing much besides eating potato salad and cookies, don’t shy away from a dress. You can do a maxi with a lightweight shirt tied around it. You can also do a cropped tee over the maxi instead of the button down. Pair it with gladiator flats or ballet flats; add a cross body satchel.

If you go to the Drive-In replace the shorts with skinny sweats that are cropped. It gets dusty at the drive-in so you don’t want your legs dusty, plus you will stay comfy in your sweats.
